Could you talk to us about your beginning and how it was?

I was born in Alexandria and my start was with music. I play the guitar and I didn’t think that I would become a composer. During university stage, I started singing at university and I sang at a concert at the cultural center in Alexandria. People got notice of me and I saw that they began to memorize and repeat songs of mine. Then I thought I could do something and achieve success. So, I travelled to Cairo where I started as a composer with the beautiful singer, Angham in her album “Omry Maak,” “My Life with You.”

What difficulties did you meet at firs? How did you face them and what situation influenced your life career as a composer?

I had a friend from Alexandria called Mohamed who had friends from artists, composers and singers. When I moved to Cairo, he arranged for a meeting with the composer Mohamed Rahim who got convinced of my talent and gave me great support. My friend Mohamed also acquainted me with many singers and I started my journey as a composer. The most difficult situation I faced and had great effect on me was when I met a renowned distributer who wasn’t convinced with my talent when he saw me for the first time. This pushed me to give more attention to studying and developing myself and my performance all the time.

These programmers present fun and excitement only to the audience. Although they give the singers who participate in the competition great fame in a short time, they are not useful for the singers as they disappear later due to the lack of production fainance after the programmers end.
